Performance
The DAB FK ATEX is a heavy duty submersible wastewater pump designed for use in hazardous and demanding environments. Built to ATEX standards, it is suitable for handling wastewater that contains fibrous, abrasive and variable solids. Performance depends on model selection and impeller type, with options available for both high flow and high head requirements.
Applications
- Wastewater pumping in private, commercial and industrial buildings
- Drainage for underground structures including subways, car parks and basements
- Effluent with high fibre content, surface water and contaminated runoff
- Operations in potentially explosive ATEX classified zones
Construction
The FK ATEX series is available with vortex or single channel impellers to match the needs of the installation. Key construction features include:
- Flanged discharge options: DN 65, DN 80, DN 100 and DN 150 (EN 1092-1)
- Cartridge style seal unit with dual mechanical seals (SiC/SiC on the pump side, SiC/C on the motor side)
- New non clog impeller geometry for improved solids handling and reduced maintenance
- Seal configuration independent of rotation direction
- Suitable for liquids with viscosity of 1 mm²/s
Motor
All FK ATEX pumps are equipped with a three phase IE3 premium efficiency squirrel cage motor, rated S1 for continuous duty and engineered for harsh submerged operation.
- Stainless steel shaft designed for maximum fatigue resistance
- Built in bi metallic thermal protection, max stator temperature 130°C
- Moisture sensor available for seal chamber monitoring (optional)
- Start up configuration:
- DOL for 1.1 to 4.0 kW motors
- Star Delta for 5.5 to 11.0 kW motors
- Lubricated for life bearings with 50,000+ hour design life
- Protection class: IP68

Installation
The FK ATEX range is suitable for fixed installation using a guide coupling system. It complies with EN 12050-1 standards for wastewater lifting installations within buildings.
